Center for Microtechnologies
The Center for Microtechnologies (ZfM) is a special scientific research centre in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at Chemnitz University of Technology and has approx. 1,000 square metres of clean room space. 300 square metres of ISO class 4 clean rooms are located in the new Institute for Physics building on the Smart Systems Campus. The ZfM provides outstanding facilities for manufacturing prototypes and pilot series, developing processes and materials and training students, trainees and young scientists on how to handle research and practical projects. This is guaranteed by the many research projects that it handles. Most of them are directed towards practical applications and are backed by industry or are direct orders from industry.
