R&D Institutes
The Smart Systems Campus provides ideal conditions for cooperation with renowned companies as well as the local research institutes. Cooperation includes using machinery, equipment or further training facilities and the opportunity of participating in projects and scientific network schemes. Young companies also benefit from existing contacts and partnerships with international research and scientific institutes and so have the chance of playing a role in international company networks.
The renowned research and development institutes on the campus include the Fraunhofer Research Institution for Electronic Nano Systems ENAS and the faculties of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology and Mechanical Engineering at Chemnitz University of Technology as well as the Center for Microtechnologies and the Institute for Printed Media Technology. The Fraunhofer Institute for Machine Tools and Forming Technology, which is also located in the vicinity, is a further partner in this R&D network.
